IMMIGRATION HANDBOOKS

Updated: Jul 31, 2019

Two immigration manuals to service providers throughout Louisiana, (1) "Getting Off the Assembly Line: Overcoming Immigration Court Obstacles in Individual Cases”; and (2) Protecting Assets & Child Custody in the Face of Deportation both of which were created by national Appleseed and pro bono volunteers from national law firms.

This project helps educate immigrant families and service providers regarding the unexpected consequences of deportation and how they can best prepare for that possibility. As the need for more pro bono lawyers increases, the practice guide manual will help these lawyers navigate immigration court. Furthermore, the Deportation manuals will assist legal service providers and their clients who are being deported in protecting their families and assets.
