Tuesday, January 2, 2024 [NEW ORLEANS, LA] – On January 18, 2024, Louisiana Appleseed will host its 14th annual Good Apple Gala. This event will celebrate the work of community members and pro bono volunteers that Louisiana Appleseed has enjoyed working with this past year. Louisiana Appleseed proudly announces Daniel LaGrone as a Bro Bono Honoree for the 2024 Good Apple Gala.
Daniel LaGrone is the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Pan-American Life Insurance Company and the Immediate Past President of the Association of Corporate Counsel—Louisiana. ACC-LA, which represents the interests of over 140 in-house attorneys throughout Louisiana, promotes in-house counsel's professional and business interests through information, education, networking opportunities, and advocacy initiatives. Through his membership with ACC-LA, Mr. LaGrone has been crucial in the ongoing project to ensure children with special needs receive education entitlements when held in youth detention or secure care.
“Youth detention and secure care facilities have a moral and legal responsibility to effectively educate all of those housed within them--particularly children who require special education,” said Adrienne Wheeler, Louisiana Appleseed’s Executive Director. “Mr. LaGrone’s continued commitment to vulnerable Louisianians deserves recognition.”
The 2024 sponsors include silver sponsors Deutsch Kerrigan, LLP & Pan-American Life Insurance Group as well as Bronze sponsors Blue Cross Blue Shield Louisiana, Perez Law LLC, and Phelps Dunbar. Proceeds from the Good Apple Gala will go directly towards Louisiana Appleseed’s efforts to create more equitable access to justice, education, and opportunity in Louisiana.
The Good Apple Gala will be held at the Sazerac House, 101 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130. Tickets and sponsorship to the 2024 Good Apple Gala can be purchased online at www.louisianaappleseed.org/2024gala.
