August 26, 2019, New Orleans, LA – Louisiana Appleseed is reaching out to human service providers across the state to devise policy level solutions to systemic problems for low-income and vulnerable residents.

"Human service providers are exposed to patterns that other agencies may not see," said Executive Director Adrienne Wheeler. "When patterns emerge, Louisiana Appleseed is uniquely poised to provide solutions through our robust pro bono network. It is not enough to simply bandage up the problem; we must root out the issue at its core."

In the past, successful policy level solutions devised by volunteers have included providing guidance to schools on state and federal law, expanding the knowledge base of the judiciary through bench cards, and crafting legislative amendments to resolve problems.

Interested partners should contact Louisiana Appleseed at Contact@LouisianaAppleseed.org. Support for this project is generously provided by the Louisiana Bar Foundation.

Louisiana Appleseed is a statewide nonprofit based in New Orleans, Louisiana that focuses on policy-level solutions by recruiting attorneys to provide free services through a research-oriented approach to policy change. Louisiana Appleseed’s mission is rooted in three pillars dedicated to increasing Access to: Justice, Opportunity, and Education.
